RESOLUTION NO. 7,626 296
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO A SURETY AGREEMENT WITH THE AETNA
CASUALTY AND SURETY COMPANY PURSUANT TO ARKANSAS
WORKER COMPENSATION STATUTES, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City intends to self- insure all claims brought
under the Workers' Compensation Law; and
WHEREAS, under Arkansas law, a $200,000 surety bond is being
required by the Arkansas Workers' Compensation Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: The City Manager is authorized to execute on
behalf of the City an agreement of indemnity as required by the
AETNA Casualty and Surety Company as a prerequisite for the
execution by it of a bond in the amount of $200,000.00 to be
provided to the Arkansas Workers' Compensation Commission. This
bond is required by Arkansas law of employers that, like the
City, intend to self- insure.
