HomeMy WebLinkAbout117230 0 1 RESOLUTION NO. 11,723 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A CONTRACT TO STUCK 4 ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS IN THE AMOUNT OF $111,985 TO 5 PROVIDE ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES 6 FOR THE ZOO ENTRY PLAZA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY 7 MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH STUCK a ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS FOR SUCH SERVICES; AND FOR 9 OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS, on November 4, 2003, the citizens of the City of Little Rock voted 12 overwhelmingly to approve a Seventy Million, Six Hundred Thirty-Five Thousand 13 Dollar ($70,635,000) Limited Obligation Capital Improvement Bond Issue (Series 2004) 14 bond issue, and 15 WHEREAS, the ballot listed projects to be funded with proceeds of the bonds to 16 be issued, which included a new entry plaza complex for the Zoo, and 17 WHEREAS, a Request for Qualifications through Bid #03301 was issued for 18 architectural and engineering services for Zoo bond projects and Stuck Associates 19 Architects ( "Architect ") was selected as the most qualified to perform such services for 20 the new Zoo entry plaza, and 21 WHEREAS, Architect represents that it is capable of and desirous of performing 22 the needed services. 23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 24 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 25 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby awards a contract to Stuck Associates 26 Architects in an amount not to exceed $111,985, to provide architectural and [PAGE 1 OF 2] Resolution to Award a Contract to Stuck Assooates Architects for Zoa Entry Complex 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 s 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 0 0 engineering services for the new entry plaza complex at the Little Rock Zoo. The City Manager is authorized to execute a contract with Stuck Associates Architects for these services, upon approval by the City Attorney of the contract form. Funds for this contract have been appropriated in Zoo Bond Accounts Nos. #317- 235 -EPOI, 317-235 - EP02, and 317 - 235 -EP03. Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution. Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
