3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH NEW FUTURES FOR
5 YOUTH, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $75,000, TO
6 PROVIDE CAPACITY BUILDING, TRAINING, AND
7 TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES; AND FOR OTHER
8 PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention,
11 intervention, and youth development programs and services to enhance public safety
12 and community- building, and
13 WHEREAS, the City advertised a formal Bid No. 04 -210 to solicit proposals for
14 capacity building, training, and technical assistance, and
15 WHEREAS, a review committee met and reviewed the proposals submitted,
16 determined the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, and recommends the
17 following contractor for an award for capacity building, training, and technical
18 assistance services; and
19 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Commission on Children, Youth and Families met
20 March 12, 2004, reviewed the recommendation of this review committee, and hereby
21 approves and endorses this recommendation to the Board of Directors.
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
23 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
24 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with New
25 Futures for Youth, Inc. for capacity building, training, and technical assistance services
26 in an amount not to exceed seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000).

1 Section 2. Funds for these programs are from FUTURE- Little Rock tax
2 revenue specified for prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, account
3 number 105 - 035 -T217.
4 Section 3. The term of the contract is for March 17, 2004 to December 31, 2004.
5 Section 4. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or
6 adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not
7 affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and
8 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not
9 originally a part of this resolution.
10 Section 5. Repealer. All resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with
11 any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
