HomeMy WebLinkAbout117170 0 1 RESOLUTION NO. 11,717 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH ST. JOHN BAPTIST 5 CHURCH, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $48,425, TO 6 PROVIDE A YOUTH INITIATIVE PROJECT (YIP) PROGRAM 7 IN THE CENTRAL TARGETED NEIGHBORHOOD; AND FOR 8 OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention, 11 intervention, and youth development programs and services to enhance public safety 12 and community- building, and 13 WHEREAS, the City advertised a formal Bid No. 04 -213 to solicit proposals for 14 youth initiative project services for Little Rock youth, and 15 WHEREAS, the City was divided into neighborhood service areas with a 16 specified number of providers for each area based upon youth population, and 17 WHEREAS, a review committee met and reviewed the proposals submitted, 18 determined the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, and recommends the 19 following contractor for an award for Youth Initiative Project services in the Central 20 Neighborhood; and 21 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Commission on Children, Youth and Families met 22 March 12, 2004, reviewed the recommendation of this review committee, and hereby 23 approves and endorses this recommendation to the Board of Directors. 24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 25 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: [PAGE I OF 21 Resolution Contras with Five Organivtions to Provide Youth Initiative Project ( 'Yff') Programs in Targeted Neighborhoods 0 0 1 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with St. 2 John Baptist Church (Unto Others) for youth initiative project services in an amount not 3 to exceed forty -eight thousand four hundred twenty-five dollars ($48,425). 4 Section 2. Funds for these programs are from FUTURE- Little Rock tax 5 revenue specified for prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, account 6 number 105 - 035 -T213. 7 Section 3. The term of the contract is for March 17, 2004 to December 31, 2004, 8 and may be extended for two additional one -year terms upon appropriation, 9 satisfactory performance and mutual agreement of the parties. 10 Section 4. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or 11 adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not 12 affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and 13 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not 14 originally a part of this resolution. 15 Section 5. Repealer.
