HomeMy WebLinkAbout11714E 1 2 RESOLUTION NO. 11f714 3 A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO PARTICIPATE WITH THE 4 ARKANSAS GAME & FISH COMMISSION IN THE CREATION 5 OF A NATURE CENTER IN THE JULIUS F. BRECKLING 6 RIVERFRONT PARK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. h 8 WHEREAS, the City engaged in the development of a comprehensive master 9 plan that calls for the development of a nature center and related nature study areas to within city park properties, and 11 WHEREAS, various City park properties are appropriate for the location of such 12 a nature center and the creation, construction and maintenance of a nature center within 13 a public park is anticipated by the City, and 14 WHEREAS, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has already expressed an 15 interest in the development of a nature study center within the boundaries of Little 16 Rock that could be built and operated by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission 17 acting in partnership with the City, and 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 19 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The Board of Directors expresses its intent and willingness to enter 21 into a partnership agreement with the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission to create a 22 nature center within the Julius F. Breckling Riverfront Park. 23 Section 2. The City Manager, and the Director of Parks & Recreation, are 24 directed to work with the City Attorney to develop as expeditiously as possible an 25 agreement with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission for a partnership 26 arrangement that makes the location of such a nature center possible. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, 2 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or 3 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining 4 portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so 5 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 6 ordinance. 7 Section 4. Repealer.
