DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, funding is available from the 2003 Emergency Shelter Grant
Program through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, said
awards to be made to providers of homeless assistance, and
WHEREAS, the proposed award is consistent with the City's Consolidated Plan,
which was developed with extensive citizen participation and identified the provision
of shelter for the homeless as having a high priority, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby approves the funding of awards
through the City of Little Rock Emergency Shelter Grant funds to the following
organizations to provide homeless assistance:
Black Community Developers, Inc. $ 6,290.00
Centers for Youth & Families 6,290.00
The Gaines House, Inc. 10,852.00
Little Rock Community Mental Health 4,721.00
Our House, Inc. 7,705.00
Salvation Army 8,805.00
Second Genesis 7,547.00
Women & Children First 14,000.00

1 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
2 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
3 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
4 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
5 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
6 resolution.
7 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
8 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
9 of such inconsistency.
