3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 APPLY FOR A HEALTHY LIVING GRANT TO CONSTRUCT A
5 PORTION OF ARKANSAS RIVER TRAIL; AND FOR OTHER
6 PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, Little Rock, Arkansas recognizes the need to provide public
9 recreation facilities for its local citizens and visitors, and
10 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock wishes to apply for Trails for Life grant funds
11 through the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism to develop a Health and
12 Fitness project, and
13 WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Board of Directors understand that if granted
14 funds for park development, they must provide the land, by lease or ownership, to
15 develop facilities on, and
16 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock will sign a contract agreeing to provide the
17 necessary resources to maintain this park and facilities for a period of 15 years,
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
19 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The City Manger is hereby authorized to submit an application for
21 grant funding to the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.
