3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AN HISTORIC FAOrADE EASEMENT WITH
4 THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF LITTLE ROCK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

6 WHEREAS, the City has maintained a program to preserve historic building facades by
7 purchasing easement to preserve such facades when possible, and
8 WHEREAS, the building which was originally the Elks Lodge (B.P.O.E.) and later became
9 the Women's City Club, is being purchased and renovated by the Junior League of Little Rock, Inc.,
10 and such action is consistent with the City's desire to preserve such an easement, and
11 WHEREAS, an agreement in the form substantially similar to that attached as Exhibit A to
12 this Resolution has been negotiated between the City and the Junior League,
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
14 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
15 Section 1. The City is authorized to enter into a fagade grant easement with the Junior
16 League of Little Rock, Inc., and to pay the sum of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000), for this
17 easement pursuant to terms and conditions set forth in the document attached as Exhibit A to this
18 resolution.
19 Section 2. Funds for this purchase•are available in the City fagade grant program.
20 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause,
21 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
22 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall
23 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional
24 was not originally a part of the resolution.
25 Section 4. Repealer. All laws and parts of laws are hereby repealed to the extent of such
26 inconsistency.
