HomeMy WebLinkAbout11336I RESOLUTION NO. 11.336 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO a ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE SECRETARY OF THE s AIR FORCE FOR MUTUAL AID IN FIRE PROTECTION AND 6 HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCIDENT RESPONSE; AND, FOR 7 OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Air Force Base Fire Department and the Little i o Rock Fire Department each have capabilities in fire fighting and hazardous materials > > incident response that would be useful to support the other in times of need, and 12 WHEREAS, the City Board of Directors desires to enhance public safety for 13 the citizens of Little Rock by securing additional fire fighting equipment, hazardous la materials response and qualified personnel during emergencies and is willing to is provide such assistance to the Little Rock Air Force Base personnel in similar 16 circumstances, and 17 WHEREAS, officials of the Little Rock Air Force Base have also indicated their is desire to participate in the provision of coordinated mutual aid with the City in the 19 protection of life and property from fire and hazardous materials during 20 emergencies on certain designated property. 21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 22 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 23 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement 24 with the Secretary of the Air Force for mutual fire fighting aid and hazardous 25 materials incident response involving the Little Rock Fire Department and the Little 26 Rock Air Force Base Fire Department.
