A RESOLUTION CHANGING THE NAME OF THAT
PORTION OF LEE AVENUE LOCATED WEST OF
UNIVERSITY AVENUE TO FATHER TRIBOU STREET;
WHEREAS, Monsignor George Tribou began his career at
Catholic High School for Boys as a teacher in 1951; and
WHEREAS, Monsignor Tribou served as principal of
Catholic High School for Boys from 1963 until the time of
his death on February 2, 2001; and-
WHEREAS, through his 50 years as an educator,
Monsignor Tribou had a positive effect on the lives of
hundreds of students who passed through Catholic High
School for Boys; and
WHEREAS, Monsignor Tribou's positive influence
extended beyond the bounds of Catholic High School,
throughout the City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is appropriate
to recognize Monsignor Tribou by renaming the street which
is located adjacent to Catholic High School for Boys in his
honor.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The name of that portion of Lee Avenue
located west of University Avenue and which is adjacent to
Catholic High School for Boys is hereby changed to Father
Tribou Street.
SECTION 2.

hereby directed
change.
This resolution shall be in full force and
after its adoption and the City Manager is
to notify all City departments of said
ADOPTED: January 1, 2002
