3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF ONE TRUCK
4 TRACTOR FROM DIAMOND INTERNATIONAL TRUCKS; TO
5 PURCHASE ONE SELF - PROPELLED PAVER FROM CLARK MACHINERY
6 COMPANY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has established the need for self - propelled
9 paver to be used in the City's street maintenance program, , and for a truck tractor to be used in
10 conjunction with various City vehicles for the purpose of hauling heavy equipment and other large
11 capacity transport needs, and
12 WHEREAS, after a competitive bidding process pursuant to RFP No. 01341 it was
13 determined that Clark Machinery Company had submitted the lowest responsible and responsive
14 bid of the four bids received for the truck tractor, and
15 WHEREAS, after a competitive bidding process pursuant to RFP No. 01342 it was
16 determined that Diamond International Trucks had submitted the lowest responsible and
17 responsive bid of the three bids received for the truck tractor, and
18 WHEREAS, the funds for this purchase were allocated as part of the 2001 Fleet
19 Services/Public Works Replacement fund,
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
21 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
22 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to purchase the following vehicles:
23 (a) One self - propelled paver from Clark Machinery Company in an amount not to
24 exceed one hundred and eighty two thousand eight hundred and eighty-four dollars and
25 forty cents ($182,884.40); and
26 (b) One truck tractor from Diamond International Trucks for an amount not to exceed
27 sixty two thousand five hundred and fifty dollars ($62,550.00).

1 Section 2. Funds for these purchases are available in Account No. 600- 360 - 6020 -6021-
2 7060 -10.
3 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
4 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional,
5 such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which
6 shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or
7 unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution.
8 Section 4. Repealer. All resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this
9 resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
