HomeMy WebLinkAbout111640 0 1 RESOLUTION NO. 11,164 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE ORDER OF THIRTY -ONE (31) 4 POLICE PATROL SEDANS FROM THE 2002 ARKANSAS STATE 5 CONTRACT, AND TO PROVIDE THAT THE PAYMENT OF THESE SEDANS, 6- UPON DELIVERY, SHALL BE A PART OF THE 2002 ANNUAL BUDGET; 7 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the Police Department has demonstrated a genuine need to modernize the 10 fleet of police patrol sedans and, is permitted to make the purchase of such sedans from the annual 11 state contract for this specialty type of vehicle, and 12 WHEREAS, there is a need to purchase thirty -one (31) police patrol sedans, but to take 13 advantage of the state contract, the City must place the order before the end of calendar year 2001, 14 and 15 WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Board of Directors to permit this order to be placed, and 16 to budget the purchase price for the sedans as a part of the 2002 Annual Budget to be paid at the 17 time the automobiles are delivered, and 18 WHEREAS, the City as authorized such action in the past in order to take part of the 19 advantageous price, 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 21 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to place an order prior to December 31, 23 2001, for thirty -one (31) police patrol sedans from the 2002 Arkansas State Contract # ST -01 -0194, 24 for an aggregate amount not to exceed six hundred and eighty eight thousand three hundred and 25 eighty six dollars ($688,386.00). 26 Section 2. Funds for this purchase shall be a part of the 2002 Annual Budget for the 27 City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and shall be included in the 2002 Replacement Budget Account 28 which shall be numbered 600 - 360- 6020- 6021- 7060 -10. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the ordinance. Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions inconsistent with this resolution, including but not limited to Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No. 18,409 (December 26, 2000) ( "the 2001 Budget ordinance "), are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
