HomeMy WebLinkAbout111351 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 0 RESOLUTION NO. 11,135 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AN AGREEMENT WITH JOHNSON CONTROLS TO PROVIDE ENERGY EFFICIENCY IMPROVEMENTS TO CITY BUILDINGS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City submitted requests for qualifications to find a firm that could provide energy efficiency engineering and equipment to the City, and as a result of that request determined that Johnson Controls was the most qualified entity to provide such services, and WHEREAS, this contract will involve not only environmental efficiency engineering and equipment, but in the future could involve the creation of special financing packages which are designed to be paid for with the savings in energy costs, and WHEREAS, it was the intention of the request for qualifications to assure the maximum efficiency and savings for the City by the selection of one firm to engineer, supply, and develop this program of energy efficiency, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contract negotiations 20 with Johnson Controls to provide guaranteed cost savings energy efficiency improvements 21 for various City facilities. 22 Section 2. Funding for this contract will be provided through the savings in City 23 energy costs which will result from the design and installation of up to seven million five 24 hundred thousand dollars ($7,500,000) in operation energy efficiency improvements. 25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, 26 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or 27 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions _ [PAGE 1 OF 2] t of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or 2 adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution. 3 Section 4. Repealer.
