HomeMy WebLinkAbout111039 9 i RESOLUTION NO. � 03 F 3 A RESOLUTION TO SET THE PROCEDURE FOR APPROVAL OF 4 RECOMMENDATIONS FROM VISION -LITTLE ROCK TO BE 5 SUBMITTED TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS; AND FOR OTHER 6 PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the City Board of Directors created a process known as Vision -Little Rock 9 and, pursuant to Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 10,792 (March 21, 2000), charged its 10 participants to establish community-wide goals and design a comprehensive vision and 11 action plan, and 12 WHEREAS, the various groups have met for more than a year and are now ready to 13 prioritize and finalize the list of goals to be recommended to the Board of Directors, and 14 WHEREAS, there has been some question as to how to determine that a particular 15 recommendation has sufficient support from the Vision - Little Rock Vision Team to be 16 forwarded to the Board of Directors, 17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 18 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 10,792 (March 1, 2000), is declared to 20 require that any authorized recommendation from the Vision -Little Rock process must 21 receive a two - thirds vote of the voting members of the Vision Team. 22 Section 2. All persons who are members of the Vision Team of Vision -Little Rock 23 team will be permitted to vote on the list of proposals to be considered as possible 24 recommendations for the City Board of Directors. A vote can be made in person at the time 25 for such voting set by the Chairs of the Vision Team, or a vote may be made by the 26 completion of a proper absentee ballot prepared at the direction of the Vision Team, and 27 received prior to the deadline set for the submission of such ballots; provided that any such [PAGE 1 OF 21 1 absentee vote shall be maintained as a public record and, shall include the name of the 2 person who submitted the ballot. 3 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, 4 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or 5 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of 6 the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or 7 adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution. 8 Section 4. Repealer.
