SMITH & SONS TO REHABILITATE A NEIGHBORHOOD RESOURCE CENTER AUDITORIUM; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, there is a need to rehabilitate the Neighborhood Resource Center Auditorium for the Department of Housing and Neighborhood Programs, and WHEREAS, after a competitive bid process pursuant to Bid No. 01287 it was determined that V.R. Smith & Sons, of the seven responses received, submitted the lowest responsible and responsive bid, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 14 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with V. R 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 Smith & Sons for an amount not to exceed three hundred and twenty four thousand five hundred and fifty six dollars ($324,556.00), to rehabilitate the neighborhood resource center auditorium. This contract is to be for an amount not to exceed the bid price of two hundred and eighty four thousand dollars ($284,500.00), without the express written consent of the City Manager, or his designee, and even then not by an amount more than ten percent (10 %) of the bid price. Section 2. Funds for this contract are available in Account No. 210 - 216 -B028- 8010(04). Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution.
