3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
4 MANAGER TO EXTEND SUBCONTRACTS FOR SIX
5 MONTHS WITH ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE
6 SERVICES TO WELFARE TO WORK ELIGIBLE
7 CLIENTS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock was awarded a $5,000,000 grant from the
io United States Department of Labor to provide Welfare to Work services to Pulaski
i 1 County residents, and
12 WHEREAS, the City desires to extend the terms of certain subcontracts for an
13 additional six months, from June 30, 2001 through December 31, 2001.
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
15 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
16 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to extend the subcontracts of the
17 following Welfare to Work providers for six months, until December 31, 2001:
18 1. Goodwill Industries for Job Readiness (Bid #99 -319) for an amount not to
19 exceed $32,335;
20 2. CATA for Transportation Coordination (Bid #99 -312) for an amount not
21 to exceed $28,350;
22 3. Pulaski Technical College for Education Coordination (Bid #99 -315) for
23 an amount not to exceed $21,401;
24 4. St. Francis House for Childcare Coordination (Bid #99 -359) for an
25 amount not to exceed $ 25,731;
26 5. St. Francis House for Housing Coordination (Bid #99 -360) for an amount
27 not to exceed $ 24,356.

2 6. Central Arkansas Planning & Development District, Inc. for an amount
3 not to exceed $49,091.
4 7. Lewis -Burnett for Job Placement for a no cost extension.
s Section 2. Funding is available for the U. S. Department of Labor, Welfare to
6 Work Competitive Grant.
