3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A CONTRACT WITH
4 ANTIQUE BRICK TO DEMOLISH A BUILDING IN THE
5 CLINTON PRESIDENTIAL PARK; AND FOR OTHER
6 PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the City is prepared to move forward with the next phase of
9 development of the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Park ( "Clinton Presidential
10 Park "), and
11 WHEREAS, one of the steps to be accomplished is the demolition of the Riley
12 Building at 1000 East Markham Street, which is part of several lots in Blocks 15 and 16,
13 Russell's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and which was purchased
14 pursuant to Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 10,421 (December 1, 1998), as part of the
15 Clinton Presidential Park site, and
16 WHEREAS, after a competitive bidding process it was determined that Antique
17 Brick and submitted the lowest responsible and responsive bid of the eight contractors
18 who submitted proposals,
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
20 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
21 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with
22 Antique Brick in an amount not to exceed one hundred and sixty nine thousand one
23 hundred dollars ($169,100.00), for the demolition and removal of a building at 1000 East
24 Markham Street and located within the boundaries of the Clinton Presidential Park.
25 Section 2. Funds for this agreement are available in Account No. 305 -214-
26 A105.

1 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item,
2 sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid
3 or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
4 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
5 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
6 resolution.
7 Section 7. Repealer. All laws and parts of laws are hereby repealed to the
8 extent of such inconsistency.
