RESOLUTION NO. 11,039
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS WITH
WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRST: THE CENTER
AGAINST FAMILY VIOLENCE TO PROVIDE DOMESTIC
VIOLENCE PREVENTION, INTERVENTION AND
EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN IN LITTLE
ROCK.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock's Domestic Violence Commission has been
committed to prevention, intervention and treatment programs to enhance public safety,
community- building, and youth development; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock released a Request for Proposal to obtain
organizations to provide citywide youth prevention programs for Little Rock residents; and,
WHEREAS, a four - member selection committee identified and recommended Women
and Children First to provide services to Little Rock children who are currently or previously
exposed to violence in the home.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contract negotiations with
Women and Children first for prevention, intervention and education services for Little Rock
children who are currently or previously exposed to violence in the home.
SECTION 2. The contract will be for one -year for the period of April 1, 2001 through
March 31, 2002.
SECTION 3. The contract amount shall not exceed $42,715.00 and will be funded
through FUTURE- Little Rock tax revenue specified for the Domestic Violence Commission.
