HomeMy WebLinkAbout110271 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 0 0 RESOLUTION NO. 11,027 A RESOLUTION TO AMEND FOUR RESOLUTIONS ON RETIREMENT PLAN ADMINISTRATION; TO CHANGE THE PLAN COORDINATOR FROM THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO THE RISK MANAGER, HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the Board of Directors passed five resolutions in 1997 -1999 to allow department heads, assistant department heads, department division heads, and the city attorney and staff, to participate in the ICMA Retirement Corporation, Nationwide Retirement Solutions (formerly PEBSCO), or U.S. Conference of Mayors retirement plans in lieu of participation in the City's non - uniform employee's pension plan; and WHEREAS, the Finance Director was designated as the coordinator for these small plans in four of these resolutions (the fifth did not reference the Finance Director but simply made reference to another one of the four); and WHEREAS, the Finance Director and the Human Resources Department Director have agreed that these pension duties can be coordinated by the Risk Manager, Human Resources Department who has similar duties for the City's non- uniform employee's retirement plan; and WHEREAS, such action requires the Little Rock Board of Directors to amend four resolutions to authorize the change of responsibilities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. Section 4. of Little Rock Ark. Res. No. 9,987 (May 6, 1997) is hereby amended to read as follows: "The Risk Manager, Human Resource Department, shall be the coordinator for the Plan; shall receive necessary reports, notices, etc. from the ICMA Retirement Corporation or the ICMA Retirement Trust; and shall cast, on behalf of the City, any required votes under the ICMA Retirement Trust." SECTION 2. Section 5 of Little Rock, Ark. Res. No. 10,161 (December 16, 1997) is hereby amended to read as follows: " The Risk Manager, Human Resources Department, shall be the coordinator for the Plan, shall receive necessary reports, notices, etc. from the ICMA or the ICMA 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 0 0 Retirement Trust; and shall cast, on behalf of the City, any required votes under the ICMA Retirement Trust." SECTION 3. Section 5 of Little Rock, Ark. Res. No. 10,185 (January 20, 1998) is hereby amended to read as follows: " The Risk Manager, Human Resources Department, shall be the coordinator for the Plan, shall receive necessary reports, notices, etc. from the PEBSCO (now "Nationwide Retirement Solutions ") or the USCM Retirement Trust; and shall cast, on behalf of the City, any required votes under the USCM Retirement Trust." SECTION 4. Section 4 of Little Rock, Ark. Res. No. 10,733 (December 20, 1999) is hereby amended to read as follows: " The Risk Manager, Human Resources Department" shall be the coordinator for the Plan; shall receive necessary reports, notices, etc. from Nationwide Retirement Solutions or ICMA Retirement Corporation; and shall cast, on behalf of the City, any required votes under the U.S. Conference of Mayors' Retirement Trust."
