HomeMy WebLinkAbout10990! • 1 RESOLUTION NO. 10,990 2 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE PURCHASES OF EMERGENCY 3 VEHICLE AND LIGHTING EQUIPMENT FROM AN ANNUAL CONTRACT 3 4 TO CRUSE UNIFORMS & EQUIPMENT, FLEET SAFETY EQUIPMENT, 5 INC., AND LTS INC.; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 6 7 WHEREAS, the City periodically needs to purchase vehicle lighting and equipment for s emergency vehicles, so to do so it takes competitive bids for an annual contract since the need 9 for such equipment often arises unexpectedly and not as a part of a programmed replacement 10 schedule, and 11 WHEREAS, five bidders submitted bids for the various kinds of items, and three of these 12 bidders -- Cruse Uniforms & Equipment; Fleet Safety Equipment, Inc; LTS, Inc. -- submitted 13 the lowest responsible and responsive bids for the various items, 14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 15 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 16 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into purchase agreements with the 17 following companies for the specified types of emergency vehicle lighting and equipment during 18 fiscal year 2001: 19 (A) New & Repaired Equipment: 20 (1) Cruise Uniform & Equipment, Inc.: 21 (a) Cruisers interior package at $1652.59 each; 22 (b) Troy Products Console at $277.42 each; 23 (c) Federal Signal Sire Speaker at $123.49 each; 24 (2) LTS, Inc.: 25 (a) 26 (3) Fle 27 (a) 28 (b) 29 (c) 30 (d) Sho -Me #03 -3126 Headlight flasher at $29.16 each; et Safety Equipment, Inc.: Whelen Smartlink System at $664.95 each; Whelen Sire Speaker at $145.60 each; Whelen Barlight at $1020 each; Whelen UPS64LX Power Supply at $224.90 each; 8 (B) The anticipated annual cost for these items is expected to be one hundred and 9 thirty thousand ($130,000.00) dollars. 10 Section 2. Funds for these purchases, up to and including the aggregate annual 11 amount, are available in Account No. 600 - 360 - 6020 - 6021 - 7060 -10. 12 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, .subsection, subdivision, 13 paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to 14 be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining 15 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared 16 or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution. 17 Section 4. Repealer.
