A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN EXTENSION OF
THE CONTRACT WITH UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS
FOR MEDICAL SCIENCES AR CARES TO PROVIDE
WOMEN'S OUTPATIENT SUBSTANCE ABUSE
TREATMENT SERVICES TO LITTLE ROCK RESIDENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has been committed to prevention, intervention and
treatment programs to enhance public safety, community- building, and youth development; and,
WHEREAS, the current contract with University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences -AR
CARES has an option for one additional one -year extensions based on their performance and
Little Rock Board of Directors appropriations; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contract with the University
of Arkansas for Medical Sciences AR CARES to provide women's outpatient substance abuse
treatment services to Little Rock residents.
SECTION 2. This final contract term shall be for one year, from January 1, 2001 to
December 31, 2001.
SECTION 3. Funding for this contract shall not exceed $173,250 and shall come from
prevention, intervention and treatment funds.
SECTION 4. Any contract entered into prior to the passage of the City Budget
Ordinance for the Year 2001 shall contain a non - appropriation clause.
