2 A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH
3 DELTIC TIMBER CORPORATION EARLY IN THE FIRST CALENDAR
4 - QUARTER OF 2001 TO PURCHASE THE LAND PROFFERED AS A
5 POTENTIAL. WEST LITTLE ROCK PARK SITE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
6 WHEREAS, the City has been offered the possibility to purchase an approximately 617 -acre
7 piece of land in west Little Rock from Deltic Timber Corporation for a price of approximately $ 4
8 million, and
9 WHEREAS, the City intends to pursue this option early in the first calendar quarter of 2001, but
10 wishes to have an additional period of time to consider the various funding options and in doing so may
11 not be able to comply with the current December 31, 2000, deadline,
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
13 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
14 Section 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, states its intent to
15 purchase early in the first calendar quarter of 2001, for a price of approximately $ 4 million, the land
16 offered by Deltic Timber Corporation as a west Little Rock park site upon the approval of an acceptable
17 funding mechanism.
18 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title,section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase,
19 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
20 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
21 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
22 resolution.
23 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
24 with the provisions of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
