RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A JOINT APPLICATION
FROM CITY OF LITTLE ROCK AND COLLEGE
STATION COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
CORPORATION TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
OF ARKANSAS FUND FOR $620,000 OF
INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE APPLE
BLOSSOM SUBDIVISION.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to the development of single family
affordable housing within the City, and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is currently collaborating with Local Initiative
Support Corporation (LISC) and other Community Development Corporations (CDCs) to
develop single family affordable housing, and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock provided the College Station Community
Development Corporation ( CSCDC) $118,000 for infrastructure development in the first phase
of the Apple Blossom Subdivision, and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has no city funds available to further assist the
CSCDC with the needed infrastructure for the development of single family affordable housing
in the Apple Blossom Subdivision, and
WHEREAS, the CSCDC efforts to complete the 60 units of single family affordable
homes in the Apple Blossom Subdivision would have a substantial economic impact for the City
of Little Rock, and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock will provide administration and fiscal management
of any funds awarded to CSCDC for infrastructure improvements for the Apple Blossom
Subdivision.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK:
Section 1: The City of Little Rock will be a joint applicant with the College Station
Community Development Corporation to the Economic Development of Arkansas Fund for
$620,000 of funding for infrastructure improvements for the Apple Blossom Subdivision, and for
other purposes.
