HomeMy WebLinkAbout10879I RESOLUTION NO.. 10,879 2 A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING $115,000.00 FOR 3 THE FINAL CONSTRUCTION PHASE OF THE 4 LITTLE ROCK VISITORS INFORMATION CENTER 5 PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 6 WHEREAS, Curran Hall, which was constructed circa 1842, is one of the City's 7 oldest structures and is a key component in the City's built and urban environment, and 8 WHEREAS, in order to preserve this historic structure, Curran Hall and its site were 9 purchased by the City of Little Rock ( "City") in 1996 as the location of the Little Rock 10 Visitors Information Center, and 11 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Visitors Information Center Foundation has raised 12 $450,000.00 toward the final construction phase of the project, and 13 WHEREAS, bids were solicited for the final construction phase of the project, three 14 bids were received, and the lowest responsible and responsive bid of $680,000.00 was 15 submitted by Jim Wood Company, and 16 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau is matching the City's 17 allocation of $115,000.00 in providing the remaining $230,OOO.to complete the project. 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 19 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The Board supports the completion of the final construction phase of the 21 Little Rock Visitors Information Center project and approves the allocation of $115,000.00 22 in order to accomplish this result. The Board authorizes the City Manager to effect this 23 resolution. 24 Section 2. Funds are available in the Economic Development Fund. 25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, subparagraph, 26 item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid 27 or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions 28 of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or 29 adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution. 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
