3 A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A CONTRACT TO
4 DESIGN CONSORTIUM, INC. FOR DESIGN
s CONSULTANT SERVICES TO UPDATE THE ZOO
6 MASTER PLAN; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, upon recommendation of the Little Rock Zoo Board of Governors,
9 the City of Little Rock issued a Request for Qualifications for design consultant services
10 to update the 1996 master plan for the Little Rock Zoo, and
11 WHEREAS, a committee reviewed the qualifications of the seven firms that
12 submitted their qualifications, and the committee selected Design Consortium, Inc., as
13 the most qualified firm, and
14 WHEREAS, negotiations for a contract amount of up to seventy five thousand
15 ($75,000) were successfully completed,
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD-OF DIRECTORS OF
17 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement, in a form
19 acceptable to the City Attorney, with Design Consortium, Inc., to conduct an assessment
20 during a six month period and to update the master plan for the Little Rock Zoo, provided the
21 remuneration for this agreement shall not be more than seventy five thousand dollars ($75,000).
22 Section 2. Funds to pay the cost of this agreement are available in Account No. 305-
23 230 -0966.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, subtitle, chapter, subchapter, section,
25 subsection, subdivision, paragraph, subparagraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this
26 resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full
28 force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not
29 originally a part of the resolution.

Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are
inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such
inconsistency.
