HomeMy WebLinkAbout10837RESOLUTION NO. 10 , 8 3 7 A RESOLUTION TO REQUEST BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF METROPLAN MODIFY SCOPE OF NAPA VALLEY ROAD RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. Whereas, Board of Directors by passage of Resolution 9887 expressed willingness to utilize federal funds for Napa Valley Road federal -aid construction project, Whereas, Ordinance 17,452 April 1, 1997 appropriated monies for design contract, Whereas, Resolution 10,109 approved a design contract with Grimes Consulting Engineers and Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department approved contract on March 27, 1998, and Consultant has been paid $114,538.32 to date, Whereas, Metroplan Board approved funding for project from both City and federal aid equaling $240,000 for design, $200,000 for Right -of -way acquisition, $200,000 for utility relocation, and $827,500 for construction, Whereas, As design progressed a series of neighborhood meetings were conducted in April 1998, June 1998, July 1999, and January 2000 including several meetings with individuals and specific neighborhood groups, Whereas, After extensive meetings with Eagle Point Neighborhood concerning impact to neighborhood Staff supports a plan change to remove grade changes at Ridgehaven Road and Eagle Point entrance planned for Napa Valley, Whereas, current cost estimate for approved project is $1,404,284 or $469,503 over budget based upon remaining funds allocated for design and construction, Whereas, with approved scope change project can be constructed with funds available and satisfy concerns of citizens, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, requests a change in scope for Napa Valley from Board of Directors of Metroplan, SECTION 2. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, request previous allocation of federal —aid funding remain authorized by Board of Directors of Metroplan, SECTION 3. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, will resubmit plans once modifications are made and City will fund 100% of plan changes to accomplish scope change, Mla. s.s a.r d 0 0 SECTION 4. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, respectfully requests these actions of Board of Directors of Metroplan. SECTION 5.
