2 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AN ADDITIONAL
3 CONINUMENT OF NINETY THOUSAND DOLLARS TO
4 CENTRAL ARKANSAS TRANSIT AUTHORITY TO
5 SUBSIDIZE THE COST OF CERTAIN ROUTES; AND FOR
6 OTHER PURPOSES.
7 WHEREAS, the Central Arkansas Transit Authority (CATA) has notified the Board
8 that it will cut certain non - profitable routes in the City because it lacks funds to maintain the
9 routes, and
10 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, having heard
11 public comments on the need for these routes, particularly by persons who do not have an
12 effective means of transportation available to them, and
13 WHEREAS, the City can use a portion of its motor fuel tax tumback funds for public
14 transportation,
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
16 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The Board authorizes an additional subsidy of ninety thousand dollars
18 ($90,000.00) to the Central Arkansas Transit Authority for fiscal year 2000 to support the
19 maintenance of bus routes within the City of Little Rock, Arkansas.
20 Section 2. Funds for this subsidy are available in Account No. 200 - 111 -1220 and
21 are taken from the City's motor fuel tax tumback funds.
