3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS WITH BLACK COMMUNITY
5 DEVELOPERS, INC., TO DEVELOP, IMPLEMENT AND EVALUATE A
6 PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION CHILDREN'S PROGRAM.

8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock's Domestic Violence Commission is committed to reaching
9 the goals for victim outreach, heightened awareness within the general population, and the prevention of
10 domestic violence; and,
11 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock released a Request for Proposals to obtain organizations to
12 develop, implement and evaluate a prevention and intervention children's program; and,
13 WHEREAS, a five- member selection committee identified and recommended Black Community
14 Developers, Inc., to provide services to Little Rock children who are currently or previously exposed to
15 violence in the home.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
17 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
18 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contract negotiations with Black
19 Community Developers, Inc., for prevention and intervention services for Little Rock children who are
20 currently or previously exposed to violence in the home.
21 SECTION 2. The contract will be for one -year for the period of January 1, 2000 through
22 December 31, 2000, with the possibility of renewal upon satisfactory performance and mutual agreement
23 of the parties.
24 SECTION 3. The contract amount shall not exceed $34,302.00 and will be funded through
25 FUTURE -Little Rock tax revenue specified for the Domestic Violence Commission.
26 SECTION 4. Any contract entered into prior to the passage of the City Budget Ordinance for the
27 Year 2000 shall contain a non - appropriation clause.
