3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 AWARD EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT FUNDS TO
5 HOMELESS PROVIDERS.

7 WHEREAS, the proposed award is consistent with the City's Consolidated Plan
8 which was developed with extensive citizen participation and identified the provision
9 of shelters for the homeless as having a high priority.
10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
11 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
12 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to approve the distribution of
13 emergency shelter grant funds in the amount of $70,000 to providers of Homeless
14 assistance as follows:

16 The Gaines House. Inc. $17,000
17 Funding is for insurance, utilities, and furnishing for the shelter and
18 food for the residents.

20 Our House, Inc. $12,000
21 Funding is for pharmaceuticals, insurance, utilities, and
22 maintenance of the shelter.

Black Community Developers. Inc. $10,000

Funding is for renovation of the kitchen at the treatment center and
26
shelter.

Salvation Ann $10,000

Funding is to purchase industrial grade kitchen equipment for the
30
shelter kitchen.

Second Genesis Ministry. Inc. $10,000

Funding is for renovation of the shelter and furnishings.

Funding is for prescription medication for clients, short-term rent
