J A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS WITH ARKANSAS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL (ACH) TO PROVIDE ADOLESCENT OUTPATIENT AND LIMITED RESIDENTIAL SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT SERVICES TO LITTLE ROCK RESIDENTS. WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has been committed to prevention, intervention and treatment programs to enhance public safety, community - building, and youth development; and, WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock released a Request for Qualifications to obtain an organization to provide adolescent outpatient and limited residential substance abuse treatment services to low to moderate income, culturally diverse Little Rock youth population at risk of alcohol and drug abuse; and, WHEREAS, a five- member selection committee identified and recommended the most qualified applicant for the Adolescent Outpatient and Limited Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Services Contract, Arkansas Children's Hospital.. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contract negotiations with the Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH) to provide adolescent outpatient and limited residential substance abuse treatment services to Little Rock residents. SECTION 2. The contract's terms shall be for one year, from January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2000, and may be extended. for two additional one -year terms upon satisfactory performance and mutual agreement of the parties. SECTION 3. Funding for this contract shall not exceed $450,000 and shall come from prevention, intervention and treatment funds. SECTION 4.
