RESOLUTION NO. 10,681
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS WITH
THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, BUREAU
OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION, TO
PROVIDE ADULT SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT
SERVICES IN A RESIDENTIAL SETTING TO LITTLE
ROCK RESIDENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has been committed to prevention, intervention and
treatment programs to enhance public safety, community- building, and youth development; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock released a Request for Proposal to obtain an
organization to provide adult treatment services for Little Rock residents in a residential setting;
and,
WHEREAS, a five - member selection committee identified and recommended the lowest
responsible bidder, the Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention of the Arkansas
Department of Health.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contract negotiations with
the Arkansas Department of Health, Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention to provide
adult substance abuse treatment services in a residential setting to Little Rock residents.
SECTION 2. The contract's terms shall be for one year, from January 1, 2000 to
December 31, 2000, and may be extended for two additional one -year terms upon satisfactory
performance and mutual agreement of the parties.
SECTION 3. Funding for this contract shall not exceed $333,610 and shall come from
prevention, intervention and treatment funds.
SECTION 4. Any contract entered into prior to the passage of the City Budget
Ordinance for the Year 2000 shall contain a non - appropriation clause.
