4 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
5 CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE
6 DOCUMENTS FOR THE LAND EXCHANGE ADJACENT
7 TO SOUTHWEST COMMUNITY CENTER.

9 WHEREAS, the Southwest Community Center on Baseline Road was
10 initially developed in 1991; and
11 WHEREAS, this creation was a result of planning that started back in the late
12 1970's; and
13 WHEREAS, today it is a park of 33 acres that contains a police substation,
14 community center, swimming pool, soccer field and open space; and
15 WHEREAS, an environmental site assessment and appraisal were obtain but
16 the request was pulled due to a reporting error; and
17 WHEREAS, the charitable trust presented a land exchange for approximately
18 3 acres within the park and south of the future library site; and
19 WHEREAS, a total of 9.23 acres west of the existing park would be realized through
20 the exchange and a net result of 5.24 acres would be added to the park property
21 inventory.
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
23 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
24 SECTION 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute the
25 appropriate documents forthe land exchange adjacent to the Southwest Community
26 Center on Baseline Road.
1 SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
2 adoption.
