3 A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE
4 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO UTILIZE FEDERAL AID
5 SURFACE TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT FUNDS
6 FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE REBSAMEN PARKWAY
7 RECREATIONAL BIKEWAY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
8 MANAGER TO REQUEST FEDERAL FUNDING
9 ASSISTANCE AND TO PROVIDE 20% MATCHING MONIES
10 FOR THE PROJECT.

12 WHEREAS, funding previously approved for the billboard removal project is
13 in jeopardy of being taken and has been requested for substitution with the Rebsamen
14 Parkway Recreational Bikeway Enhancement project; and
15 WHEREAS, an additional segment of the River Parks Bikeway Corridor will
16 be constructed with these funds demonstrating the City's long standing commitment
17 to a recreational trail corridor long the Arkansas River.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
19 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
20 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to request federal funding
21 assistance and provide 20% matching monies for development of the Rebsamen
22 Parkway recreational bikeway trail extension.
23 SECTION 2. Matching funds required in the amount of $80,000 will be
24 available from the previous Billboard Removal project.
25 SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
26 adoption.
