3 A RESOLUTION TO REAUTHORIZE THE CITY OF LITTLE
4 ROCK TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH UALR'S 21
5 MIDSOUTH CENTER FOR LEADERSHIP AND TRAINING TO
6 PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES TO THE CITY'S
7 PIT CONTRACTORS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the PIT Advisory Group surveyed the organizations contracted with the City
10 to provide prevention, intervention and treatment services in 1998; and
11 WHEREAS, the PIT Advisory Group recommended, based upon the survey results, that
12 additional technical assistance services be made available to the contractors; and
13 WHEREAS, UALR's Mid -South program was the successful bidder in a competitive bid
14 process and was awarded a one year contract by the Board of Directors in Little Rock, Ark. Res. No.
15 10,338 (August 18, 1998); and
16 WHEREAS, the parties have now fully negotiated the contract between them.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
18 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
19 SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby reauthorized to sign a contract with UALR for
20 the services of UALR Mid -South to provide technical assistance to PIT contractors. The term of the
21 contract shall be 12 months at a price not to exceed $80,000. Funds for the contract are 1994 -1996
22 carryover PIT funds (Fund 213- 8500).
