HomeMy WebLinkAbout10526RESOLUTION NO. 10,526 A RESOLUTION TO ALLOW CONTINUED TIME FOR THE CREATION OF A SOUTH UNIVERSITY AVENUE REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT FROM INTERSTATE -30 TO ASHER AVENUE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, with Resolutions No. 10,131 the Board of Directors declared the intent to create a redevelopment district with overlay features along South University Avenue from Intersate -30 to Asher Avenue; and WHEREAS, this resolution with subsequent resolutions allowed for a moratorium on enforcement of the City Sign Ordinance in the specified area; and WHEREAS, the allowed time and the approved time extensions have expired for the moratorium of the enforcement of the City Sign Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the work on the District has not yet been completed; and WHEREAS, the Board wishes to express it's continued support and intent to create such a district and to continue to encourage discussions between the City and the Business Owners in the area. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. During the development of the Design Overlay District, but for a period not to exceed 12 months from the adoption of this resolution, the Director of Planning and Development may permit a temporary waiver of the requirements of the City Sign Ordinance. This waiver is provided as a means of experimentation with ideas of area business, which are perceived to assist in the redevelopment of the area. This waiver is to be applied for and granted in writing by the owner or the owner's designated representative, and shall be in effect for not more than the 12 months as set forth in this section.
