3 A RESOLUTION TO EXPRESS THE DESIRE OF THE
4 BOARD OF DIRECTORS THAT THE UNIVERSITY OF
s ARKANSAS AT FAYETTEVILLE COMMIT TO PLAY AT
6 LEAST THREE FOOTBALL GAMES PER YEAR IN
7 LITTLE ROCK FOR THE NEXT TWENTY YEARS; AND
8 FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, there is great pride in the State associated with the football program at the
11 University of Arkansas, and
12 WHEREAS, the great financial support from central Arkansas for the Razorback
13 Foundation, and the easier access to Little Rock for persons in central, southern Arkansas and
14 eastern Arkansas make the scheduling of some football games in Little Rock particularly
15 appropriate, and
16 WHEREAS, there is a tremendous economic advantage to having at least three football
17 games a year in central Arkansas, and the University should also be willing to fulfill the
18 commitment suggested when the City was asked to consider whether to let another entity
19 contract to handle the parking commitments at War Memorial Stadium during these football
20 games in order to help finance improvements at the stadium,
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
22 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
23 Section 1. The Board of Directors states its strong resolve that the University of
24 Arkansas at Fayetteville should agree to play at least three football games per year in Little
25 Rock for at least the next twenty years to and including 2018.
26 Section 2. The City Manager is directed to provide a copy of this resolution to all
27 appropriate parties including University officials, members of the War Memorial Stadium
28 Commisison, and persons associated with the University football program.
