HomeMy WebLinkAbout10474RESOLUTION NO. 10,474 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT THE TORNADO 51 DAMAGED AREAS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK BE DECLARED A REBUILD AMERICA OPPORTUNITY. WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock believes that the aspirations of the Rebuild America Program is worthy and benefits the community in which the goals of Rebuild America Programs are implemented; and WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock authorized Resolution Number 10,096 on October 7, 1997 authorizing the City Manager to enter into a Rebuild America Partnership with the United States Department of Energy for the purpose of improving energy efficiency in buildings that reduces energy costs, increases available capital, spurs economic growth and improves working and living environments; and WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has become a Rebuild America Partner; and WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has successfully challenged organizations and individuals within the City to join the Partnership effort. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The areas damaged in the tornados of January 21, 1999 are hereby declared to be a Rebuild Little Rock opportunity. SECTION 2. Appropriate City Departments will disseminate Rebuild information to assist in planning for more energy efficient structures.
