HomeMy WebLinkAbout10473lam M M M ISM M m 2 RESOLUTION NO.1o.473 3 49 4 A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO ENTER INTO A s CONTRACT WITH THE WAR MEMORIAL STADIUM 6 COMMISSION TO LEASE PARKING SPACES IN 7 FRONT OF WAR MEMORIAL STADIUM; AND FOR s OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, owns the property immediately ii in front of the War Memorial Stadium, and uses this property as a parking lot during 12 events at the stadium, during the week for persons who work at the State offices 13 immediately adjacent to the stadium, and for persons that are using the War Memorial 14 Fitness center, and is WHEREAS, because of a desire to provide additional parking for improvements 16 to be made at the Little Rock Zoo, and to consider the most effective means of providing v for parking to the various events listed above, the City determined it would be in its best is interest to advertise for bids to lease this property, and 19 WHEREAS, after a competitive bid proposal done in accordance with Ark. Code 20 Ann. §§ 22 -4 -501 to -504 (Michie Repl. 1996), the City received two bids, and 21 WHEREAS, it is the obligation of the City to lease to an entity or individual on 22 such terns and conditions are may be desirable and necessary to the City, and 23 WHEREAS, after careful consideration of the two fine proposal received, it was 24 determined that the proposal from the War Memorial Stadium Commission is the best 25 overall proposal, and 26 WHEREAS, the ability of the Commission to fulfill the terms and obligations of 27 this proposal, since it is a governmental entity, will occur as soon as the current session 28 of the General Assembly is completed and the appropriations are in place, and as soon 29 as a proposed contract with the Arkansas Razorback Foundation is complete, 30 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS i- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 16 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. The Board of Directors states its intent to lease the area immediately adjacent to War Memorial Stadium to the War Memorial Stadium Commission for parking pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth in its December 15, 1998, proposal submitted to the City of Little Rock. Section 2. The Mayor, City Manager, and City Clerk are authorized to execute a lease agreement, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, that outlines the terms and conditions set forth in the successful proposal of the War Memorial Stadium Commission provided all preconditions in that proposal are met.
