3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LITTLE ROCK BOYS CLUB TO
5 OPERATE A COMMUNITY BASED PREVENTION SERVICES
6 PROGRAM FOR YOUTH IN THE JOHN BARROW COMMUNITY.

8 WHEREAS, the PIT Advisory Group has evaluated the availability of prevention programs
9 in various parts of the City; and,

I I WHEREAS, the PIT Advisory Group recommends the establishment of a community -based
12 prevention program in the John Barrow area; and,

14 WHEREAS, two organizations passed the original RFP review process for establishment of
15 programs in this area but only one was selected due to funding; and,
16
17 WHEREAS, the PIT Advisory Group has recommended the use of additional moneys from
18 Children's Trust Fund to finance a program for the area.

20 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
21 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

23 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contracts with the Little Rock
24 Boys Club to operate a community -based prevention program in the John Barrow community of
25 Little Rock.

27 SECTION 2. The contract will be for one year and may be extended for one year, based on
28 a review of programmatic and financial performance.

30 SECTION 3. The contract shall not exceed $50,000 per year and will be funded through the
31 Children's Trust Fund.
