RESOLUTION NO. 10,361
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO CONTRACTS WITH THE URBAN LEAGUE AND THE
GAINES STREET CENTER TO OPERATE A COMMUNITY BASED
PREVENTION SERVICES FOR YOUTH.
WHEREAS, the PIT Advisory Group has evaluated the availability prevention programs in
various parts of the City; and,
WHEREAS, the PIT Advisory Group recommends the establishment of community -based
prevention programs in the South End; and,
WHEREAS, three organizations passed the original RFP review process for establishment of
programs in this area but only one was selected due to funding; and,
WHEREAS, the PIT Advisory Group has recommended the use of additional moneys from
Children's Trust Fund to finance the two additional programs for the area.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contracts with the Urban League
of Arkansas and the Gaines Street Center to operate community -based prevention programs in the
South End community of Little Rock.
SECTION 2. The contracts will be for one -year and may be extended for one year, based on
a review of programmatic and financial performance.
SECTION 3. The contracts shall not exceed $50,000 per year and will be funded through
the Children's Trust Fund.
