4 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
5 MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH
6 PHILLIPS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY IN THE
7 AMOUNT OF $569950 FOR CONSTRUCTION OF AN
8 AFFORDABLE HOME AT 1216 COLLEGE STREET
9 MODEL BLOCK.

11 WHEREAS; the proposal is consistent with the City's Consolidated Plan,
12 which was developed with extensive citizen participation, and identified the
13 development of affordable housing for the nonhomelcss special needs members of the
14 population as a high priority; and
15 WHEREAS; the CDBG and Housing Office, as part of its Model Block
16 Program initiative, constructs rew affordable housing for sale to low income persons;
17 and
18 WHEREAS, the City's goal in Model Blocks is to construct new houses on
19 vacant lots and rehabilitate existing housing.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
21 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
22 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to execute a contract with Phillip;
23 Construction Company in the amount of $56,950 for construction of an affordable
24 home at 1216 College Street, located in the College Street Model Block.
25 SECTION 2. Funding for this project is availalie from the HOME Investment
26 Partnership Program.

1 SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
2 adoption.
