A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE CITY'S APPLICATION
TO THE ARKANSAS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FUND
FOR THE LITTLE ROCK PORT'S INTERMODAL
CONTAINER YARD.

WHEREAS, the River Terminal at the Little Rock Port was built over 25 years ago and is
now handling three times the cargo for which it was originally designed; and
WHEREAS, a lack of facilities is impairing recruitment of new industries and impeding the
growth of the 37 existing companies in the Port Industrial Park which employ 2,500 Arkansans; and
WHEREAS, the new cargo area will add 15 immediatejobs and an additional 100 jobs in the
Port Industrial Park; and
WHEREAS, the River Terminal serves approximately 500 trucks per day.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to endorse the City's application to the
Arkansas Economic Development Fund for the Little Rock Port's Intermodal Container Yard.
SECTION 2. Funding requested from the Economic Development Fund of Arkansas is
$1,508,200.
