A RESOLUTION TO INCREASE FEES AT THE WAR
MEMORIAL FITNESS CENTER; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, since its inception in 1992, War Memorial Fitness Center has played a
vital role in the livelihood of the citizens in Little Rock and Pulaski County, and
WHEREAS, this vital role stems from the obecjtive of the Fitness Center to provide an
opportunity for citizens to improve their health and fitness by participating in a programmed
environment, and
WHEREAS, the fee increases set forth in this resolution will generate an estimated
$86,000 which, subject to other pledges, will help offset the acquisition costs of fitness
equipment, the construction of a sauna, and the purchase of chemcial feeder pumps for the
swimming pools, at an esimated cost of $66,500, and
WHEREAS, the revenue generated and the net income of $19,500, though subject to
other pledges, will be earmarked for the above - referenced costs and for future improvements,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to approve fee increases at the War
Memorial Fitness Center as follows:
23 (a) Daily fees will increase from $4 to $5, with fees for Seniors and
24 Youth to be $3;
25 (b) Monthly fees will increase by $2 across the board;
26 (c) Yearly fees will increase by $20, except that a Senior yearly pass
27 will increase by only $15.
28 Section 2. The additional revenues realized by these fee increases will be placed in
29 the enterprise fund previously established for the War Memorial Fitness Center.
