RESOLUTION NO. 10,278
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT FOR
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT OF CITY OWNED
PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock receives property donations and purchases
property on a regular basis; and
WHEREAS, environmental assessments should be initiated prior to acceptance of
donated or purchased properties as recommended by the City Attorney's Office; and
WHEREAS, this practice reduces the City's exposure to costly hazardous material
removals and other liabilities that can be revealed after acquisition through more detailed
studies; and
WHEREAS, typical cost for a single environmental assessment is approximately
$1,500; and
WHEREAS, having a consultant under contract expedites studies and acquisitions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to award an environmental assessment
consultant contract for the Parks and Recreation Department on an "as needed" basis for one
year.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is also authorized to negotiate a contract with
Pollution Management, Inc.
SECTION 3. Funding will be available through various Operative and Special
Project accounts.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption.
