4 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY

6 MANAGER TO AWARD A CONTRACT TO BELL
7 CONSTRUCTION IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,080,609 FOR
8 RENOVATION AND ADDITIONS TO THE POLICE

10 TRAINING FACILITY LOCATED AT 10901 ARCH
11 STREET.

WHEREAS, the old landfill was remodeled and became the Police Training Facility
14
15 in 1984; and
16 WHEREAS, the Police Department added additional space to the existing facility in
17 1991; and
18
19 WHEREAS, this facility was severely damaged in the March 1, 1997, tornado
20 leaving the City faced with performing major repairs or replacing portions of the facility; and
21 WHEREAS, the insurance company has assessed the damages and has given the
22,
23 City the insured value of the property.
24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
25 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to award a contract to Bell
27
28 Construction in the amount of $1,080,609 for renovation and additions to the Police
29 Training Facility.
30 SECTION 2. Funds are available for this purpose in account number 210- 350 -0748-
31
32 I72 ($576,000 insurance); account numberMY -SMF- 350 -ORCI ($204,609 seized funds) and
33 $300,000 in City funds.
34 SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
35
36 adoption.
