HomeMy WebLinkAbout10260RESOLUTION NO. 10,260 M M w M M A RESOLUTION TO EXTEND THE MORATORIUM ESTABLISHED IN LITTLE ROCK, ARK., RESOLUTION 10,125 (NOVEMBER 7, 1997) FOR ANOTHER SIX MONTHS; GRANTING CERTAIN AUTHORITY TO THE CITY MANAGER TO DECREASE THE LENGTH AND BREADTH OF THE MORATORIUM; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the Board of Directors adopted a six month moratorium on building permits and rezoning applications for the area of the Clinton Presidential Library in order to consider the boundaries and characteristics of a special zoning district with overlay features; and WHEREAS, this time is about to expire, but the work on this district has not been completed since the City has been aware of a referendum process on the bond ordinance that would finance the library; and WHEREAS, the referendum period has now expired on the bond issue, so the financing of the park site will soon be available and the City needs to more forward more earnestly with its plans for a special zoning district; and WHEREAS, it is anticipated that this process will take an additional six (6) months, but under the direction of the City Manager could take a lesser period of time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. Section 1 of Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 10, 125 (November 7, 1997), is hereby amended to extend the time of the moratorium to and included October 2, 1998. SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to decrease the length of this moratorium if the necessary work to develop a special zoning district is earlier completed and a plan is adopted by the Board of Directors; further, the City Manager is authorized to recommend a plan to the Board of Directors that encompasses less area than that set forth in Section 2 of Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 10, 125 (November 7, 1997).
