RESOLUTION NO. 10.256
A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO DECLARE MAY 9,
1998 "TENNIS DAY" IN LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, tennis is a lifetime sport that promotes health and fitness and
instills character, sportsmanship and integrity, and
WHEREAS, the Little Rock department of Parks and Recreation and the
Arkansas Tennis Association are committed to this sport and have formed a
long- standing partnership to encourage, promote and support youth tennis
opportunities through instruction, facilities and tournaments, and
WHEREAS. The Arkansas Tennis Association through its programs
reaches over 15,000 young people each year, and
WHEREAS, May has been declared "Tennis Month" by the United States
Tennis Association in recognition of the sport's contribution to quality of life, and
NOW, THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LITTLE ROCK CITY
BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
SECTION 1: The City of Little Rock hereby declares May 9, 1998 "Tennis
Day" in Little Rock, Arkansas.
