HomeMy WebLinkAbout10135• RESOLUTION NO. 10 , 4 ME A RESOLUTION TO DECLARE A MORATORIUM ON DEMOLITIONS WITHIN THE CAPITAL ZONING DISTRICT UNTIL AUGUST 31, 1998; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the state has created a Capitol Zoning District pursuant to statute, and WHEREAS, the City still has certain authority within this District including the ability to grant demolition permits, and WHEREAS, the District is in the process of updating its master plan and, perhaps, offering amendments to that plan, the survey which accompanies it, and an ordinance, and WHEREAS, the District has formally requested that the City issue a moratorium on demolitions in the District until August 31, 1998, so that these plans can be completed and so that the District will not be further diminished the by destruction of structures, and WHEREAS, the historic nature of this District makes the periodic review of this master plan essential and, this moratorium for a reasonable period of time will assist in the proper review of the plan, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 25 Section 1.
