A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND CONTRACTS FOR COMMUNITY BASED PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION SERVICES. WHEREAS, in 1996, the City of Little Rock awarded service contracts to community based organizations for prevention and intervention services for youth; and, WHEREAS, these services contracts were eligible for renewal based on performance review, Board approval and appropriations; and, WHEREAS, a five- member review committee recommended that service contracts with the following programs be renewed: , Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to renew, subject to appropriations, the following contracts for prevention and intervention services: 1. Prosecuting Attorney Pre - Charging Diversion Program 2. Boy Scouts, Quapaw Area 3. Joseph Pfeifer Camp 4. Greater Friendship 5. Girls Scouts, Ouachita Area 6. Big Brother/Big Sisters 7. Watershed, Inc. 8. Philander Smith's Brother to Brother 9. Shepherd's Ranch 10. Arkansas Arts Center Section 2. The City intends to contract for a twelve -month period, with possible renewal of contracts in 1999 based on performance and appropriations. Funding for 1998 is contingent upon appropriations by the Board of Directors in the adoption of the 1998 budget. • Section 3.
