A RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE VOLUNTEERS SUMMIT
IN ARKANSAS AS A PROGRAM TO BE SUPPORTED BY
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Mayor has presented the Board of Directors with information as to the
Arkansas summit on volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, this effort to support community enhancement through the use of volunteers
both on the individual level and the corporate level is consistent with many of the goals of the City
and the vision established for the City through the Future - Little Rock process; and
WHEREAS, a conference is the be held within the City in February, 1998, that will attempt
to formalize this effort.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board adopts the concept of the program on volunteerism and the summit
on volunteerism as a project to be supported by the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, working in
conjunction with other public and private entities, and announces its intention to support the
volunteerism summit to be held in the City in February, 1998.
